Directly after the Daniel Silverstain SS16 runway show, I attended the Rhié Women’s Presentation at the Industria Superstudios on Washington Street, NY. Industria Superstudios definitely holds true to its name, housing seven spacious studios and an art space. Multiple shows and presentations were held at this location.
The presentation mirrored a zen approach, with the structure of the presentation revolving around the theme of peaceful meditation. The SS16 line was displayed on a landscape that matched a Japanese rock garden. The white floor resembled the gravel or sand in a garden, which is raked in the pattern of rippling water. The addition of the asymmetrically-patterned rocks completed the arrangement. The models moved in a very slow manner after every song as if to represent a river’s tranquil flow. The careful and serene music made the environment almost perfect to just sit down and meditate. The clothing complemented the theme, with the natural sway of the loose-fitting and minimalist pieces. Below are some pictures of the presentation!

Needless to say, I was astonished by the presentation. I look forward to seeing (and experiencing) more of Rhié‘s work.
Stay tuned for my third NYFW recap of four, which highlights the next show that I went to – M.Martin Presentation!
